Add Climate Control to your Insteon Lighting System |
If you've viewed our wireless lighting solution using Insteon, now you can add climate control to your Insteon network with a Venstar thermostat.
The Venstar 1700 Programmable Thermostat also comes with an Insteon Thermostat Adapter allowing the Venstar to be recognized on the Insteon network.
Now you will be able to adjust your thermostat from the ControLinc V2 tabletop controller or any other Insteon-compatible controller.
When turning off your lights for the night from your bedside ControLinc, you can also save some energy and money by turning the thermostat down a few degrees by programming any button on the ControLinc to any temperature on the thermostat.
Once you've installed your thermostat, the Insteon Thermostat Adapter snaps right into the jack on the bottom. Now all you need to do is set the thermostat to the mode/temperature you want and link it to the INSTEON controller of your choice, using INSTEON's simple Plug-n-Tap setup.
Every time you activate that scene on the controller, your thermostat will return to the corresponding temperature.
From plugging in your Insteon Thermostat Adapter to changing the temperature from an Insteon controller, setup takes as little as a couple of minutes.
Note the Venstar thermostat requires power to function. If you do not have a "common" wire running to your thermostat from your heating/cooling equipment, you may need either to run a new wire or you can install a thermostat Add-A-Wire Accessory kit.
But, if you really want to turn the temperature up or down from anywhere in the house, you can use your coffee table RemoteLinc to bring the room to that perfect temperature.
The RemoteLinc is the first wireless remote to send Insteon commands to your lighting and appliances to control them remotely, turning any Insteon-compatible device in your home on and off at the press of a
button. You can even create multiple lighting scenes and dim lights to desired levels with this handy wireless remote that fits in your hand.
Note an Access Point is required for use of the RemoteLinc to provide a bridge to the Insteon network and is sold separately.
