The JCL Automation demonstration home is a complete "smart home" design centered around a Control4 solution for interior and exterior lighting, thermostat settings, and a digital entertainment center featuring a Life/Ware Media Server. This home also includes a Home Automation Inc (HAI) Omni II system for the security and alarm panel and X10 controls for the backyard spa and waterfall. The HAI system and a surveillance camera system from ICRealtime are linked to the Control4 system via standard serial interfaces to complete an integrated whole-house automation solution.
Control4 also provides the capability to control installed devices with your home PC with the Composer Home Edition software. This includes remote access to your devices over the Internet using Web Navigator. A screenshot of the home overview page in Web Navigator is shown below.

However, if you're unable to visit us in person and you have a strong interest in seeing the Control4 Web Navigator interface, please contact us to request a user login for our demo home. You will be expected to be a courteous user and at a minimum turn off any device you activate before logout or exit.
As mentioned at left, our demo home includes a Life/Ware Media Server, which is based on the Windows Vista Media Center software. This system from Exceptional Innovation can be an alternative to Control4 for a complete "smart home" design using the Media Server as the master controller. Our demo home includes Insteon lighting devices controlled by the Media Server, as well as the award winning Media Center user interface for entertainment controls.
As a third option for a do-it-yourself "smart home", our demo home has HomeSeer v2.2 software installed on a separate PC. Homeseer is capable of controlling a variety of home sub-systems via plug-in modules added to the base software. Our demo shows the HomeSeer interface to our HAI security panel, Insteon lighting devices, and pool/spa X10 devices.
